I purchased this SC10 Factory Team kit used. I am the third owner. It came without a motor, speed controller (ESC), or receiver. The vehicle was tuned so well from the time I got it that I really have not messed with it or examined it in anyway, except for cleaning out the transmission and replacing bearings. However, the one thing I have messed with, as it came without a motor or ESC, is exactly that: Motor and ESC.

     Without hesitation I can recommend Castle Creation's Sidewinder 3 ESC/motor combo. I purchased the 4600kV motor for my 2WD SC10 here, and it has been a great little motor. The ESC itself allows for hooking up to your computer via USB cable to program and fine-tune a plethora of options, from throttle and brake curve, motor torque, and even motor timings. This might seem gimmicky to some, but I must say, it is immensely useful.
